Phil Cannella – Phillip Cannella News: Phil Cannella explains that there are several different types of long term care, each somewhat different in terms of how care is provided, each coming with a different price tag and each fitting a different type of need.
Phil Cannella goes on to tell us that each person is different when it comes to their needs. Some people, if they needed help with the activities of daily living want to do it in the comfort of their own home. For these people one would want to make home health care arrangements for in this type of care, the caregiver comes out to your house and provides the care. Others, as Phil Cannella explains, prefer or might be in the need of full-time care to the point that they would be better off in a nursing home where they have full facilities to take care of the person. There is no way to say which one is better or worse. Each of these two types of care are different and provide for a different need. Also, each of these comes with a different price tag, nursing home care being a 24/7service compared to home health care usually being based on a 40 hour week.
Nursing home care can cost, according to Phil Cannella, upwards of $100,000 a year. Home health care usually runs at about $50,000 a year.
